Beauty & the Beach

There are things I love about the beach and things I hate about the beach. I was reminded of it last week when we spent some time at Folly Beach, SC.

Love: the sound of the ocean, searching for beautiful sea shells, soaking up the sun (with proper SPF, of course), catching up on my summer reading, enjoying the amazing scenery

Hate: sand in my hair, sand between my toes, sand on my face, sand.... everywhere

On our last day in South Carolina, the hubby and I trooped out to the very end of Folly Island to catch a glimpse of the Morris Island Lighthouse. Suddenly I felt like I was in a Nicolas Sparks novel! Naturally, I loved it. What girl doesn't want to be in a Nicolas Sparks novel? In fact, on of the Charleston plantations was used in the filming of the Notebook. *Swoon.

We hunted high and low to find those two pieces of driftwood that were small enough to bring back with us. Perfect [free] souvenirs and excellent home decor accessories!

We also cruised down to Folly Beach around sunset. The beach is just more proof that nature makes the absolute best color combinations.

In super important fashion news, I put some of those Sally Hansen nail stickers on my toes and they lasted all week. They are still going strong after a week with tons of walking and the beach-y elements. I was quite impressed!
